A friend of mine in Kansas City emailed me about Austin's death. Then I clicked on the newspapers article which he sent me later, then your web site. All excellent. I spent two years as a federal prosecutor in KCMO and held the highest respect for Austin. As I replied in the newspaper article, the bar has lost one of its finest, and I have lost a friend. Please give Judy my regards.

Hey There, Aus: You always used to say, "Who will tell the stories when I'm gone?" Well, it looks to me like your son-in-law, Joseph, is doing a great job of telling the stories with this webstite. Your memory will stay with us for many years because of this site. And, what great things people have to say about you - all of which you deserve. Miss you, baby!

Grandpa austin was such a great man i knew him very well. i used to come over every weekend to spend time with him and grandma. we always used to go on vacations every summer to branson it was so much fun, i will always miss his. . . Anti shortcuts he used to make which ended up taking twice the time to get to where we were going. grandpa would always tell me stories from when he was young like the wise fisherman stories and stories from the war. you know he would usualy tell me the same exact story at least once every three stories but i never told him i just sat and listened and we talked about them. we would always watch movies together which was always fun to listen to him complain and whine about how crappy the actors were. =) Grandpa Austin was a great man and one to be remembered, he helped alot of people in his life and made alot of changes for alot of people and he will be deeply missed by all
